PorkChop's Day Out!
Last Saturday, we took PorkChop out to Kelen's place to socialise with her dog Joey. Unfortunately for PorkChop, who was recently (1 week ago) castrated, Joey attempted to hump PorkChop 3 times. It was tragic for PorkChop and I think he was a little traumatised. But our baby was no wuss, he defended himself and fought back, barking and in a pouncing position.
Well we had fun laughing and watching him 'play' but we decided we may need to think of another solution to our housing problem for PorkChop when we go away for our Nepal trip come November.
Then we walked to Holland Village from Kelen's place and midway through the stairs of an overhead bridge, PorkChop stopped and looked back at me. It was as if I could read his mind when I asked if he wanted to go into the carrier. He never does this before, I tell you. He's not a fan of being inside the carrier. But this time, he obediently entered the carrier when I opened its door and was happily lying inside while Chris carried the carrier all the way up the bridge and all the way to Holland Village which was a good ten minutes away.
We visited the pet shop where we bought PorkChop from and he didn't seem to remember the place. The shop girl Adeline carried PorkChop and played with him for a bit but he seems to have forgotten her. Adeline took another female pug out for us to play with (still on sale) and I carried her. She was definitely lighter than Pork (who is now 6kg) even though she was chubby. She was clearly afraid of Pork perhaps because of his cone of shame (due to the operation, to prevent him from licking his wound).
We walked around a bit in the Pet Lover's Centre and there were 4 shitzus running around the shop so it was quite messy. One of the shitzu took a liking to Pork and kept following him. It was so cute. We went downstairs to the Subway and had dinner there outside with Pork tied to the chair. Pork was quite obedient and just sat around. There was a lady called Ally with a big golden retriever sitting at the next table.
We chatted with her for a bit and made friends. Her dog was called Barney and he is really a sweet a gentle dog. I hardly stroke a dog upon first meeting it but Barney was truly gentle and never ever barked. I stroked his head and body and he is really big. Pork even sniffed around him and he didn't budge. It was real nice seeing Pork socialise a bit here and there with other dogs. I am so glad we applied Frontline flea solution to him the day before.
We went home at about 7pm and Pork had his dinner and was clearly tired from his day out. It was real nice taking him out. So fun!
