cupcakes/wedding cakes are driving me crazy

I was quite upset when I saw Carnival & Co tell me that their prices have increased. They had previously quoted me and I was more or less quite set on them. But now without warning, they raised their priced. I feel so cheated, betrayed....

I don't think I can still use their cupcake tiers anymore with their new pricing. It's ridiculously high. Almost 70% increase! Sigh.... I am thinking of scrapping wedding cake altogether. It's dumb anyway... Which guest truly really enjoy and anticipate watching the couple cut a cake? Honestly guys... it's like just so... expected!

I think we'd do better giving away cupcakes for guests as take away gifts. I think that would be much better considering most of the guests wouldn't be able to eat the wedding cake anyway. Originally I had thought of using Carnival & Co for their wedding tier cupcakes which would look pretty as a stage prop. But now.... need to figure something else out.

Problems problems..... I tell you... The wedding business is a good business! Provided co-habitation doesn't take over.

Family Dinner - Check!

Last Sunday, we managed to finally confirm and book the restaurant for our family dinner on 13 July 2007. That's right, we're going against tradition and going head to head with superstitions. Yes, it will be on Friday, the 13th!

Finalising this dinner was a pain. There were a few rows and dissatisfaction in the midst of the planning but I am so glad I can have that checked off my list. We've booked 3 tables at Noble House, a Tung Lok Group restaurant. The place looks good and the service is pretty good. During the midst of booking, we had dimsum and this was the first time I didn't have the appetite to eat! (If you know me, you'll know I hardly lose my appetite.)

Thing is, I think I was super gan jeong. It was all very tensed and I just didn't have the appetite. We've met my dad's "requirements" of having a suckling pig (complete with head and tail - ew!) and sharks fins soup (despite my strong protest against the killing of sharks) for every table.

Now I just need to confirm the total guest list for that night's dinner...

never too late...

This is my first entry but it's never too late.

I know couples usually have blog sites for their weddings. We've got a wedding site but that's for all the wedding activities like guest rsvp, wedding day details, etc. So I figured I might as well start a blog for our wedding.

Then I thought, I'd be the one posting... might as well make it from a bride's perspective of things. Plus, then I won't have to keep repeating the phases of my wedding, details, etc to everyone who asks. They'd all read the blog and just go "oh yeah...."

So despite the fact that I am only 3.5 months away from my wedding, it's never too late to start a blog. ;P
