Last Minute Change of Caterer

Yes you read it right. In just one week, we managed to change our caterer. We'd set our minds on a previous caterer which I'd rather not mention and had a good food tasting session. But here's the thing, after we confirmed, things got quite difficult.

The sales person wasn't accomodating and worse, she can actually ask us not to rent tables from her when she already stated cost of rental for the tables. I wasn't very confident about her food layout and presentation and was also convinced our buffet line was going to look bad with a lame vase of roses that would only make the food look miserable.

I couldn't sleep last Friday night thinking about this and getting all paranoid. So I made the wise decision to drop them but before that I had to ensure I could secure a back up plan. And I did. Praise God!

I approached Lavish to see if they could do something similar to our previous menu with the other caterer. The lady, Zorena, was simply professional and very helpful. She dished out advice and told me what I could expect, etc.

So we confirmed with her within about 3 working days and after I did the horrible task of calling the other caterer with our rejection. Things worked out smoothly and now I am hiring Lavish to do our catering. I can definitely trust them since they are a much bigger company, more established and have done a lot more weddings and more tasteful.

We'll be tying up details with them this Saturday. Hope everything goes smoothly. The only bad thing is that Lavish is not halal whereas the previous one was. But I had no choice... hope muslim friends can forgive me. But no pork no lard!

1973 Morris for a wedding car

Wow it's been a month since my last entry! I couldn't believe it too. So much to update on. So much stress... We'll cover this bit by bit. First up, car. We were informed about a week ago that we didn't manage to secure our wedding car through a friend. My friend was nice and offered to help us search for one. But I went ahead and did the research myself.

I've already got my back up plan. Just needed to check if it was still available at such a last minute. Voila it was! I am about to place my deposit to secure the booking. The guy wasn't very friendly though. He was all business and no-nonsense. Whatever it is... I hope this car is confirmed. Here is a picture! I was eyeing on it from the start but Chris didn't think we should spend so much on car rental. But after much research, unless you're settling for a regular car, you'll still need to pay for a premium price of about $500 for rental of one day.
