Baby PorkChop

Today PorkChop is 4 months old!
Wow time really flies. It's been 1 month since we had him.
He has now learned how to Sit, Stay, Down, Up, Crawl, Say 'Woof!' and today he finally FINALLY learned how to Shake Hands AND Fetch! I think he also understands the words 'Pee pee' and 'Water' though he still makes mistake with the peeing and pooing.

He knows he is supposed to pee and poo at the pee tray but ever since we enlarged his area to the entire kitchen, he has been making a mess every morning and sometimes in the afternoon as well. We need to constantly supervise him to ensure he does it at the right place.

I haven't been very patient with teaching him. I did a bit of the early stage of teaching him to speak and sit. But the rest was Chris. Today after Chris told me to try to teach him something new (or he will become stupid), I dedicated about 45min teaching him to Fetch and Give me and also to Shake Hands.

The latter took the longest. It has been so many attempts but he always did not get what we mean. Today after checking out a website with a new teaching technique which makes him think how to solve the puzzle, it worked!


I held out my fist with the treat inside and made him lick, sniff it. Actually he kept trying to pry my hand open with his mouth then he used his paw and I was like 'Shake Hands YES! Good boy!" So from there, I kept doing it until he got it and then I changed my technique a bit by using another hand to hold the treat and made him really shake my hand. We still need more practice but he also got the idea that he needed to be in the Sit position for it to count.

Sigh.... so tough ok!
